Our Hardwood Refinishing Process

We can help make your hardwood floors look like new by sanding and refinishing them. Sanding and refinishing hardwood floors is done by first sanding the hardwoods to remove the finish, stain, and any scratches, scuffs, or wear. Some of these issues will be on the surface, while others will be a bit deeper. Sanding the floors will bring out the natural look of the wood, and after they’re sanded, you can choose a new stain and finish.

Once the floors are sanded and the dust is picked up, a new stain and then a finish can be applied. The stain that you choose can be the same as the one prior, or a completely new color. The stain must be applied correctly or it will look streaky, which is why it’s so important to hire professionals.

We will apply the stain on your floors, and then allow it to dry. It can take a while before the stain is dry, and it should not be walked on during the drying process. After the stain dries, we will apply a finish. You can choose from either a water or oil-based finish to complete your hardwood refinishing. Again, the floors should not be walked on after the finish is applied, and furniture and rugs should be kept off the floors for a while.
